Roots Home Inspection

Lead Safe

All rental units built before 1978 must be inspected for lead-based paint by July 22, 2024, or upon tenant turnover. Landlords need a “Lead Safe Certificate,” valid for two years, to comply with New Jersey law. Inspections include visual checks and dust wipe samples by certified risk assessors. Lead-safe status must be maintained through regular inspections every three years or at tenant turnover.
