Termite Evaluation

A trained professional can identify the presence of wood-destroying insects by detecting specific traces such as damage and mud tubes. Home Buyers usually need a termite/WDI inspection when purchasing a house. Though Roots Home Inspection doesn’t perform this inspection directly, a subcontractor will be brought in to complete it simultaneously, included in the overall inspection cost. This means you’ll have at least two inspectors on the job. The inspection covers termites and other wood-destroying insects, ensuring comprehensive protection for your home.

What : Inspection for activity and/or damage from the presence of any and all wood-destroying insects. Termites, Powder Post Beetles, Carpenter Ants and Carpenter Bees all destroy wood.

Who : All buyers and sellers of any home that is not brand new should request this inspection. Condos that are not on the ground floor usually do not require a Certificate.

Why:

  • Your mortgage company will require a clear Certificate.
  • The sellers usually agree to repair and treat before you purchase.
  • Issues can be major.
  • A clear Cert is a one-year warranty from the pest company that issues it.

When : For Buyers: bundle it in with your Home Inspection. For Sellers: inspect at the time of listing.

How : When scheduling the Home Inspection, we seamlessly arrange for a qualified company to inspect for Termite/WDI.
