What do they look like? Where are they found? Do I have any?
A trained experienced professional can identify the presence of termites without even seeing the bugs. They leave specific traces including damage and mud tubes. When purchasing a house the structure should be inspected for damage and activity caused by wood destroying insects. Most all Home Buyers will require a termite/WDI to complete their purchase. We do not complete this inspection but will bring a subcontractor to complete it at the same time. The price will be included in your home inspection cost. So you will have a minimum of two inspectors on the job when you book your home inspection.
Wood Destroying Insects
Although we often refer to the Wood Destroying Insects Inspection as the “Termite” there are many other insects that destroy wood and can be a threat to your home. These insects include but are not limited to:
- Termites
- Carpenter ants
- Carpenter bees
- Powder post beetles
The Termite expert will include at no additional cost
- Estimates for the treatment
- Estimates for repair of the damage
- If a home is found free of wood destroying insects – you will receive a free one year warranty for termite infestation.
